Extra Credit

1. I enjoyed the color wheel and shading project because it was simple and fun. I mostly liked it because I am not a good artist or drawer.
2. The video assignments because they took a lot of time and did not really help me learn much.
3. I enjoyed the Blackboard site it was very helpful and useful during this course.
4. The discussion groups I thought were pretty useless. Looking through the comments of my work I could tell people could care less about it.
5. No I did not.
6. I would remove the discussion forums and video watching blogs.
7. Yes, it is a lot of work but easy if you manage it right.

Reflections of AED 200

What do you expect to learn in this course?
I hope to learn more about the basics of art and to learn some important facts about art.
1. From looking at my first blog posting, my expectations were met by learning about the basics of art and important facts of artist.

2. I still believe that art to me is defined as painting, drawing, sculptures, and museums. I also think of it as a process and time consuming process especially for actual artists. It is a very special in different ways to different people. It can be very emotional or very straight forward to some people. It is also seen as story telling.

3. I did not have a favorite artist for the start of this course. But now looking back at all of the artwork I had looked through I would say Andy Warhol is now a favorite of mine because of the way he presented his art.

4. My first thought of taking an online class was pretty excited to experience something so different than what I was used to. It is still the same, I really like the idea of an online class so next semester and on I will try to take online classes.

Jean-François Millet

Marie-Gabrielle Capet

All these paintings are from the Google Art Project website.

#1. I picked these portraits of these women mostly because I will be creating a self-portrait and since I am a women also I wanted to share something between these portraits. I picked these because I like looking at older photos and seeing how different they are from these days.

#2. I chose to use pencil and colored pencils because they are very easy to work with and I have many of these around the house.

#3. My biggest problem was making myself look like my picture, I did not overcome it because the only thing I can easily draw is a stick figure but I tried my best.

#4. It represents me in everyday life, with a smile on my face.

#5. The elements I used was shape for creating my face, eyes and nose. Color to make it look better and to show what my eyes, skin, and hair color are.

#6. I liked it because it is way different than any of my other classes instead of studying and reading I got to color and draw.

#7. My final is not that good as I thought it would be but then again I am the opposite of an artist so it is kind of what I should have expected.

Project #4 Reflection

During this process of looking for artworks and a theme, I wanted a theme that was either about nature and flowers or beach themes. But looking through the sites I could not find enough artworks that supported the themes I wanted so instead a theme that easily stood out to me was love/ curiosity. It is a mixture of both because they tie into each other. With these there was a lot of color, almost explosive color because it gives off the impression of how love makes you feel, also the way it can make your mind question some things, hence my title "The Beauty of Street Art". For the background of my slides, I used the same for all of them, it was like a a graffiti on the top with a yellow-mustard for the color. Even though my theme is love and curiosity I used the graffiti slide to contradict with the love but it also was similar because it is also street art just not the kind I picked. Throughout the entire project I did not find the websites helpful, they gave minimal information to complete the required elements of each artwork. I did figure it out by taking a huge amount of time to search every site to find the artwork to get as much information as possible. I also had a little difficulty on the description of the artwork because it was hard to not make the descriptions sound too much alike. After I found the theme I wanted it was not hard to incorporate other artworks that were similar.
