Project #1

The elements and principles of art are evident in all aspects of life. As I went through photos I had taken over the summer on my vacations, it was impossible to not be able to instantly identify at least one element or principle. Like the texture of my friend's puppy, almost as if you know what his fur feels like. Also like the movement of the orca jumping out of the water. Others were not so easy to identify such as, balance. Balance was shown through the landscape being divided between the water and the trees. The element of value was my favorite picture in the slideshow because it dramatically showed to difference between light and dark.

  1. You did a great job explaining the elements and principles! The photo of the rose (contrast) is one of my favorites because it is like my favorite filter on my DSLR. Your friends puppy looks so soft and fluffy- the perfect texture! You got a great shot of the Orca, not only is it movement but great contrast! I enjoyed looking through your photos! :)

  2. 1.I think you did a great hob at capturing did the images you used to represent the elements and principles of art. You can tell clearly which each photo represents without having to second guess it. There were some images like color (she used an apple) could have been used as shapes too. I like the contrast you used of the rose that was a nice separation and made the flower really stand out on its own.
    2. I too used my dog for texture because how can you not! They're so fluffy and their fur is a perfect description of texture.
    3. The orca I too have a ton of pictures of swimming (I sat on the whale when I was little and fell in love with orcas ever since) so I think the capturing of its movement in its natural habitat is really awesome!

  3. I enjoyed all of your pictures. One in particular was your picture for contrast. I like how the color of the petals stands out. Great use of a filter. I agree with you that you can find many elements in all of your pictures. I think you did a great job of finding pictures that has one specific element that stands out. Good job!

  4. I really thought your pictures were interesting, they was great variety in them. I am not sure that I have a favorite picture, because each one was interesting in its own way.

I thought your use of filter was really cool - I'm not good with filters, but it definitely makes a difference in a positive way!
